Lifeguarding

Each of our pools is staffed with a "core team." This team includes an individual pool manager, head lifeguard, permanent lifeguards and swim lessons instructors. They are assisted by substitute lifeguards covering shifts as needed.  As the communities grow and request us to manage other services such as swim team and water aerobics, the teams are expanded to include trained professionals in those areas.

Each core team is required to manage and run its own facility. Some examples of their responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Preventative observation and member safety
• Providing an atmosphere that facilitates safety, cleanliness and friendliness
• Enforcement of pool rules as specified by the Homeowners Associations and Splash
• Providing clear and thorough daily documentation of chemical tests, water quality, and noteworthy happenings around the pool
• Supervision of member only policy
• Opening and closing the facility
• Conducting facility maintenance

Training

Our lifeguards are required to hold a lifeguard training certification awarded by a nationally accepted program. This certification must include lifesaving, CPR and 1st Aid certifications. To insure that our lifeguards not only carry a card that says they are "certified" in lifeguard training, CPR and 1st Aid and to prove to us that they also possess the mental and physical training and confidence required for the position, we have certified instructors on staff who hold preseason training and skills refresher in-services. Our lifeguards will not be scheduled at the poolside until they complete the requirements built into these training sessions.
